Event Filtering

All activity is analyzed by the Koddi event filtering engine and 'bad' activity will be filtered. For this reason we do not expect the count of events sent to Koddi to match 100% to the reporting from Koddi. This is normal.

🚧

Implementing filtering on your organic results would be detrimental to your core business. Koddi's event filtering is specific to ads and should only be applied to the ads program.

IP / User Agent Filtering

Koddi filters all events for known bad actors based on IP and user agent. We use both 1) publicly available, industry standard lists and, 2) our own proprietary filtering technology. These rules are dynamic and can be updated by experience working with your Koddi team.

High Velocity Activity

Koddi filters activity from a session that has an accelerated number of events (i.e. 100 impressions in less than 60 seconds). These rules are also dynamic and can be updated by experience working with your Koddi team.

Deduplication

Koddi dedupes activity from a session that has an accelerated number of events (i.e. 2 clicks in less than 5 seconds). These rules are configurable by experience working with your Koddi team.

Confirmations are only processed once, if a second confirmation is recored with the same ID, it will be ignored.

Test Indicators

Koddi filters activity when partners utilize specific parameters in our API to indicate when calls are made for testing purposes, or when a test domain is recognized in the event.

Over Budget Activity

Although rare, sometimes events processed after a campaign's budget is exhausted. In this case, all events are processed, but the advertiser will be charged $0 for clicks beyond the stated budget. The other events will process normally, meaning average CPC will be slightly lowered and average ROAS will be slightly higher.
