Ad Auction Flow Overview

To recap our ad serving flow:

• Bid Request: Publisher initiates a bid request to Koddi specifying either a set of eligible entities or relevant categories.
• Auction Execution: Koddi conducts a real-time auction, evaluating bids based on predefined criteria.
• Ad Selection: The highest-ranking ad is selected, and pertinent details are sent back to the publisher for rendering.

Rich Media Differences

For rich media ad formats, we support two main methods of getting content to the consumer’s browser depending on the publisher’s infrastructure, objectives and preferences:

Pointer-Based Delivery

Upon receiving an ad request, Koddi runs the auction and returns a ranked list of ad candidates. Each ad candidate includes a unique identifier (pointer) corresponding to the creative asset. The publisher uses this identifier to retrieve the asset from their own content delivery network (CDN) and serves it to the user's browser.

CDN-Based Delivery

Publishers upload their creative assets (images, videos) directly to Koddi's platform. Koddi handles tasks such as transcoding videos into streaming-optimized formats, ensuring compatibility across various devices and browsers.
During ad serving, Koddi provides a URL pointing to the hosted asset, which the publisher integrates into their site or app.
