Manual Bidding
Koddi Ads enables Manual Bidding: a bidding method that allows marketers to set a maximum cost-per-click (CPC) for their ads. Setting bids manually is sometime favored by Digital Marketing Analysts with experience in Real-Time-Bidding ad programs.
Manual bidding differs from automated bid strategies, which set bid amounts for you. Automated Bidding Strategy is also available on Koddi Ads.
Two types of bids can be set within Koddi Ads:
- The Ad Group Base Bid - It will be applied to all entities under that group.
- Entity Bid - If the advertiser wants to be more granular, he can edit the bid directly at the entity level, when allocating products to the Ad Group, or directly on the Entity Page.
After setting up a bid at the entity level, the marketer can always go back and apply the base bid under the Ad Groups Page > Edit Ad Group > Manage Products > Use Base Bid
Use Cases
As an advertiser, I want to be able to set specific bids on each entity, and edit them based on performance. My bidding strategy is more granular because I have experience in RTB and I want to make sure each dollar is spent efficiently, towards the highest possible ROAS.
As an advertiser, I set up two Ad Groups. The first one has entities belonging to a brand with significant marketing funds, so I will set up a stronger Base Bid of $1.1. The second Ad Group has less budget, so I will set up a lower Base Bid of $0.7.
